Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Schools

Online assignment for EDMS 550 class:

Three advantages of online schools/courses are:

1. Class can be available even when there is no expert on site.
2. Offers flexibility for students with special needs to participate in classes.
3. Ability to offer course (many elements of the course at least) at the convenience of the student.

Three disadvantages are:

1. Limited personal interaction between students and teacher.
2. Requires students be organized and self-driven (to complete assignments, etc.) without structure of classroom setting.
3. Some course content is not conducive to online teaching.

Presentation Tools

Today I explored various PC-based and online presentation tools. I've used Powerpoint quite a bit... but I am looking forward to giving Glogster and Prezi a try! I am teaching a lesson next week on the Bill of Rights. I'm thinking Prezi would be a perfect tool to use!
